The Ballard Center [6 East Chestnut Street in Augusta] is holding a complimentary business networking event on Thursday, November 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The event is free of charge for Augusta citizens, business people, policy makers and the media. Beverages will be on hand, and if anyone would like to “freshen up” their personal online profile, free professional photographs will be available from Knack Factory, a creative and strategic content production firm.
“We want it to be fun, and encourage informal chats about Augusta’s future, which we think is very bright,” said Dirigo Capital Advisors President Kevin Mattson. “It’s also a great chance for anyone who has not yet seen it to get a glimpse at the transformation of this property. It’s come a long way in a very short time.”
Ballard Center is a 7-story, 317,000 sq. foot structure that at one time served as the primary hospital in Augusta (MaineGeneral Health, formerly Kennebec Valley Medical Center.) It is a mixed-use business complex that is home to educational and medical organizations, commercial offices, and a cafe. Dirigo Capital Advisors has invested $23 million into Ballard Center, whose commercial space is already (73%) leased.
